About
The Therapist
Esther Guilhot is a Mental Health Social Worker and Counsellor, and has professional training in areas of Trauma, Family and Relationships, Mental Health and Addiction, Autism and ADHD, Complex/PTSD, Personality Disorders, Parenting and Attachment.
Beginning in 2005 in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane supporting people through homelessness, addiction and re-integration to society she eventually returned to her roots on the Sunshine Coast. Here she furthered her support for people experiencing trauma, mental health issues, addiction, family breakdown, domestic violence, financial instability and mental distress.
In my free time I enjoy moments with my Neurodivergent Family, life partner Dan and Australian Bulldog Polly. I recharge and unwind in nature hiking the local trails, scaling the off-road mountain bike tracks, moving through a yoga dvd, playing SNES and reading and binge watching psychological crime and drama series. For fun and creativity I enjoy a local festival or gig, jewellery making, attending art galleries and writing.
Being passionate about the environment I aim to keep a low footprint in small ways by: working in the area I live, walking to work, hiring a share space that supports the Sunshine Coast Council, eliminating printing of forms and materials, reduce electricity usage by using only natural light and no air-conditioning (weather dependant Aussie summers can get tough), donating to environmental causes, reducing single use plastics by buying from The Source Maleny, solar and electric energy for my home and transportation and buying most items second hand from the Beerwah Recycle Market and op-shops to reduce landfill. These changes can be hard and not everyone can do them so I choose to dedicate 1.5% of my session revenue to carbon reduction programs click the link below for more information.
